Alan Turing

At blinc12, several of the commissions and the main projection event on Conwy Castle was dedicated to Alan Turing. The mathematical, computer genius whose work helped to crack the Enigma Code in the Second World War. His treatment by the establishment, because of his sexuality ,led to his suicide in 1954. The commissions were supported by The Arts Council of Wales and they are also being shown along with a project overview on The SPACE. Click here to watch the short films As well as dedicating the festival to him, we managed to secure a very important touring show inspired by his work called INTUITION AND INGENUITY, curated by Anna Dumitriu. We were also able to show the work of Desmond Paul Henry, a prolific visual artist inspired by Alan Turing.
